Our Easter Bunny ?

Donna of, http://mammamiadays.blogspot.com left this comment "Maybe soon there will be a photo of Hondo in a bunny suit holding an Easter Lily".

It doesn't take much prompting to get me to share the silly photos that I taken of Hondo over the years. He was such a willing subject during every photo shoot.

So here is our Easter Bunny in 2004.

Delightful Amaryllis

This one of my favorites. I'm hoping to get a second blooming out of them this year. I'd appreciate any tips that others have to share.

Oh I love Hummers

I'm so happy that my hubby loves these precious little creatures as much as I do. Frank has taken on the responsibility of keeping the feeders cleaned and filled. We truly enjoy sipping coffee in the mornings while they zip ( at the speed of light ) around the yard, through our patio, in and out of plants and around the patio columns.

Decent Shot of Hibiscus

I'm going to keep working on getting photos that aren't blurry.

Hondo "The Texas Hunk"

I was asked about my Cocker Spaniel, so I'm proud to present to you Hondo.

He no longer is kept in a long coat, due to severe skin allergies. Hondo is a very large Cocker and was not purchased for breeding or show, so that didn't matter to us.

I belong to a online Cocker Club where I've met some wonderful people that share the love of Cocker Spaniels. Many of us have met and attended several of the yearly Cocker Nationals.

I've taken numerous photos of Hondo posing in costumes and may share some here later. I don't put him through many photo sessions these days as he now has Hip Dysplasia along with severe allergies.
"He's my boy and my shadow"

Thanks for asking about him Donna@ http://mammamiadays.blogspot.com

Btw Donna, the very large plant behind the Hummingbird is an Elephant Ear. My mother always had them in her yard when I was growing up, and they are a constant reminder of her. I miss her deeply.

Bloom Day March 2009

After nearly five months of drought, we've been blessed with some much needed rain. I am not one that enjoys a rainy day (gloomy), but this past week was our Spring Break and we had the opportunity to spend several of those rainy days with my brother and sister-in-law at their family's Summer home in Rockport, Texas. Can't think of a better way to spend a rainy day than visiting, playing domino's, site seeing and even the chance to BBQ.

My husband Frank, helped me get many plants potted ( those bags of soil are so heavy) and managed to get the lawn fertilized just in time to flourish from that rain too. It's wonderful that he and I share a passion for a nice yard and enjoying time together just sitting on our patio talking and watching the Hummingbirds.

I always have my feeders out the first week of March and this year was no exception. I'm thrilled to have two, that seem to have claimed our yard as their home. Those tiny, beautiful creatures bring such simple joy into our lives. I hope this year will be like last, as people were amazed when standing on our patio, they actually had to dodge the Hummingbirds.

I apologize for the blurry photos, my hands shake and I'm working taking better pictures.
